Our approach to talent selection leverages TTI SI’s patented Job Benchmarking process and best-in-class talent assessments. Job Benchmarking is unique because we benchmark the job, not the people in the job.

What is a Benchmark?

 

A benchmark is a mathematical profile that numerically defines the ideal candidate for a role or job. It combines key stakeholder input with sophisticated algorithms to identify what is required for success in a specific role.

 

Candidates are then assessed and compared to the benchmark for fit. We provide a one number fit score and a detailed summary of where a candidate matches the profile and where there are gaps.  Candidates are ranked from best to least fit.

 

A benchmark introduces objectivity into the hiring process to save hiring managers both time and money when vetting job candidates.

Most businesses are quick to say, “Let’s take our top performers and try to clone them,” or “I know what it takes, I’ll just tell you…” This approach limits objectivity and promotes selection bias. 
 

Organizations using this method may develop benchmarks that reflect their top performers, but these people may not reflect the best performers. Consider if you only have B level employees when you are looking for A level people, should you clone the B level employees? This approach can artificially cap company performance.

  • A short follow up meeting is scheduled to validate the results. 
  • The Oval Group can create a customized job ad, using the results of the benchmark to attract the right candidates. 
  • Candidates are assessed against the benchmark.
    • They are scored and color coded for overall fit on 0-100 and red-yellow-green scales.
    • Managers also receive a GAP report for each applicant.

Once a candidate is hired — their assessment information can be converted into a full coaching report.
